A quick thought on the Indian IITs with a perspective on IIT Kharagpur.

No amount of words will be enough : 1. Entrance test - Possibly the toughest in the world 2. Networking opportunity - Excellent and creates awonderful peer circle 3. Academics - The most popular are IITs in Bombay,Delhi , Kanpur, Kharagpur,Madras .The Khargpur education has a high level of applications and less of theory. It is said this IIT produces engineers while the others produce scientists. 4. Higher Education- The first 4 mentioned are better in terms of getting schols from US Ivy Leagues To make it to the IIMs all IITs are equally good , but since IIT Kgp provides a good mix of non-IT jobs ,it might have an edge.  5. Job Opportunity - IIT Kharagpur produces more robust personalities suitable for Indian factories and markets . 6. Extracurricular Activities - IIT Kharagpur leads in terms of sports and other literary and cultural activities. 7. Quality of life - Most IITs are in cities and provide a good quality of life on weekends.Kharagpur and Kanpur are like Cornel

Does Bouncing Your Tea Bag Actually Do Anything Substantial?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/quora/2012/12/04/does-bouncing-your-tea-bag-actually-do-anything-substantial/#460b0f3e62f5 This is a fairly complicated question to answer, one which I spent a considerable amount of time researching about fifteen or so years ago. First, tea bag tea largely obeys first order kinetics, so the rate of dissolution slows down as the concentration of tea rises. This is governed by the Noyes-Whitney equation ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dis... ) The idea of exposing it to fresher (unsaturated) water and thereby making it dissolve more tea would be correct if Cb, the concentration in bulk solution, ~= or approaching Cs, the concentration at the surface. Tea, however, contains a series of layers - the boundary of the leaf and the boundary of the tea bag both matter. At the instant you dip the teabag, there is no water inside the bag. This is the first problem: the tea bag material is porous, but is also relatively hydrophobic, so it takes

A Powerful Life Principle from Abraham Lincoln

http://www.lifeoptimizer.org/2017/02/21/life-principle-lincoln/     As you might know, I love quotes. They are concise but contain a lot of wisdom. Recently I found a great quote by Abraham Lincoln that contains a powerful life principle. Here is the quote: I will prepare and someday my chance will come. In my opinion, this quote is interesting. Why? Because you prepare first and then your chance will come. It might sound counterintuitive, but I believe that this is an important principle for living a successful life. Here are some lessons I learned from the quote: 1. Always prepare yourself for the future. You never know what will happen. That’s why it’s important that you always prepare yourself for the future. Keep building your knowledge. Keep building your network. Don’t just stay where you are, assuming that everything will stay the same. Instead, prepare yourself as if something will happen. Why? Because something will happen. If you get complace

http://www.lifeoptimizer.org/2017/03/16/ways-to-overcome-adversity/   Movies & TV  Imagine waking up every morning for a month and not being able to function as a normal human being because the joints throughout your body were being attacked by your immune system. Imagine going from a fit 22-year-old law student and writer to an almost bed-ridden fatigued young adult who feels like almost 95 years old. That’s what happened to me in 2015 and it changed my entire outlook on life. This was the greatest adversity I’ve had to overcome and in doing so, I learned many valuable lessons that I wish to share with you today. It has been over 18 months since my diagnoses of psoriatic arthritis and I have completely overcome this life-altering autoimmune disease! Not only have I regained my life back but I’ve accomplished more in the last 18 months than I have ever before. Here are three ways I did it. 1. Look Beyond the Problem When things fall apart, the only fac
