What is the book about? Men Without Women is a collection of short stories exploring men who experience loneliness, emotional isolation, failed relationships, violence, loss and disillusionment. Hemingway portrays men who often struggle to express their emotions. They may appear brave, independent and self-controlled, but beneath the surface they are vulnerable, wounded and lonely. The title is somewhat misleading. The book is not simply about men who have no women in their lives. It is about the emotional emptiness that can exist even when relationships are present. 2.
