Splenda is the brand name for sucralose, a no-calorie sugar substitute. The body does not recognize sucralose as a carbohydrate, and McNeil Nutritionals, the makers of Splenda, note that clinical studies have shown sucralose does not increase insulin or blood glucose levels. Sucralose is stable at high temperatures, so is suitable for cooking and baking.
Diet Coke
Coke introduced Diet Coke with Splenda in 2005; regular Diet Coke still contains aspartame. The packaging differentiates Diet Coke with Splenda from regular Diet Coke. Splenda-containing Diet Coke has a yellow swirl, as opposed to regular Diet Coke's white swirl, and the Splenda logo appears on the label of Diet Coke with Splenda.
