Leadership Development

Marcus Aurelius offers us 10 tips to build our  self confidence:

Focus on building your character

Practice Self-Acceptance

Make a plan and stop thinking

Keep your word

Take ownership of your actions

Don’t speak too much about yourself

Remind yourself of death

Have an evening confidence ritual

  1. Have confidence in yourself. Confidence comes first! But remember: Successful people often exude confidence, but it isn’t their success that makes them confident. The confidence was there first.

  2. Success in life depends on you. No one can force you to make decisions and take actions that run contrary to your values and aspirations. Do not believe in destiny. You create your destiny.

  3. Being busy does not equal being productive
It not necessary to work many hours. What counts, is the quality of what you produce. Do no forget it!

  4. You’reonly as good as those you associate with

  5. Don’t say yes unless you really want to

  6. Squash your negative self-talk

  7. Avoid asking “what if?”
Do not think too much about what could have happened if…

  8. Schedule exercise and sleep
It is fundamental to plan and organize you job. Do not come at the last moment!

  11. Focus on solutions

  12. Forgive yourself

To be a real leader, make sure you’re not building your own leadership on any of these commonly held myths:

1. The myth of entrepreneurial leadership

It’s easy to assume that all entrepreneurs are leaders, but just because someone has a great and timely idea and can organize and operate a business, the truth is they aren’t necessarily a leader.

2. The myth of management as leadership

Leadership cannot be equated with management, even if it often occurs. If you’re a manager, you’re focused on maintaining systems, processes, and best practices. But if you’re a leader, much of your time is spent working to influence people. They’re both important roles, but they’re not the same thing.

3. The myth of trailblazer as leadership

Just because you’re standing in front of the crowd, you’re not necessarily the leader. The best leaders take their place alongside their people, helping propel them forward to a shared mission and vision. They may even be behind them, watching their backs.

4. The myth of position as leadership

The No. 1 top myth about leadership is the idea that leadership resides in certain positions. If you’re a at the top, you’re a leader. If at the bottom, there’s no room for leadership. In reality, the truth is that leadership has absolutely nothing to do with position.

Every business and work group has a boss, but only some have a leader at the helm. So if you’re in charge, or if you aspire to be, you have a decision to make: are you going to be the boss or are you going to be the leader? If you’re going to choose the second approach, remember that:

1. True leadership is about influence, nothing more and nothing less.

2. True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed or assigned.

3. True leadership can never be mandated, only earned.

And the best proof is not the leader’s personal success but the success of those who follow.

The great efficient workman first learnt to construct the parts properly before they ventured to fashion the great whole. They allowed themselves time for it because they took more pleasure in making the little secondary things well than the effect of a dazzling whole .

I very much suggest you begin to suffocate your demons , slay your dragons and hug your monsters by doing more demanding things . This is one of the surest routes to masterful achievement and a private life you’ll be ever so proud of at the end .

Small, daily seemingly insignificant improvements when done consistently over time, yield staggering results

Jump straight out of bed before your reasoning mind - the prefrontal cortex - can give you a bunch of excuses about why you should go back to sleep . All change is hard at first , messy in the middle and gorgeous at the end

You become undefeatable in the world by what you do when no one’s watching . The real measure of your majesty is shown not in your outer moments before an audience , but in the soft and early light of lonely practice . You become undefeatable in the world by what you do when no one’s watching . The brilliant moves in the last seconds of the championship match were automatic - the result of tireless hours of repetition of those splendid moves during training

The five primary assets that all superproducers defend are mental focus , physical energy , personal willpower , original talent and daily time . Each morning you enter this invisible bubble of your own making that is completely empty of other people’s superficial messages , spam , fake news , advertisements , silly videos , irrelevant chatting and other forms of cyber hooking that will destroy your life of monumental potential .

Solitude for a scheduled period each day in a positive environment floods you with creativity , energy , happiness and the feeling that the work you are doing is for the upliftment of humanity . Your private time is free of negativity , energy vampires and soul-hurting pursuits . Specific application ideas include selling your television , avoiding the news for the remainder of your days , staying out of noisy shopping malls where you buy things you don’t need , unfriending energy draining people you follow on social platforms , turning off all notifications and deleting apps with constant announcements .

Spirits of Estonia

http://www.inyourpocket.com/estonia/tallinn/Spirits-of-Estonia_56060f 1 For some of our readers, vodka might just be some colorless liquid that tastes like rubbing alcohol but goes great mixed in a cocktail. In Estonia however, hard liquor is pretty serious stuff.  Spirits can be made from many raw materials including grapes, potato, and grain. These days in Estonia the vast majority of vodka is made using high quality rye grain. First the raw material is fermented using yeast, which creates a weak alcohol or mash. Next this product is distilled creating a much stronger alcohol. Finally the impurities are filtered off, and water is added to bring the percentage from about 96 to about 40.And that is how you make vodka! Of course there is much to be said about quality and it certainly varies from brand to brand. The world’s best vodkas are made from the finest grains, the purest waters, multiple distillation & special filtration techniques.    A little history   Alcohol wa
