Memorable Weekend - Diwali 2017

Diwali is considered as the Festival of Lights in India & symbolizes the victory of good over evil . Its marked by lighting lamps , diyas as they call it in India and backed up by family get togethers , exchange of pleasantries and sweetmeats . In Bengal the worship of Goddess Kali takes place while Goddess Lakshmi the Goddess of Wealth is also worshipped that night especially by the business community . Owing to pollution reasons the High Court of Delhi banned the use of firecrackers this year in Delhi.It created many a heartbburn as it was construed as a means to snub Hinduism and favour the minority community . In Kolkata a deep depression marked an end to the fun and gaiety. A deep depression over coastal Orissa ran into Kolkata and adjoining areas with wind speeds exceeding 40kmph.Despite a 4 day weekend , Wednesday and Thursday got completely wiped out by the rains and neither did candles or diays survive the winds. Techniques of Concentration

Some simple techniques to improve poise : 1.Focused Eyes -Fix two points on a mirror at eye level. Focus your eyes on them without thinking of anything else and blinking your eyes. Initially you might face a problem. Keep your eye affixed for around 3 minutes. This practice will help you develop poise and you come out as a more confident person. 2.Memory- After reading a short story write down a summary. This applies to articles, books etc. Initially to restore memory read a sentence, memorize it and note it down verbatim. 3.Enjoying a task - Instead of allowing multiple thoughts to disturb your mind on a task and make you feel miserable , it would always be better to apply yourself on the task, address the issues and get yourself involved. This would make it result oriented and fun.
